Violette Szabo GC (1921- 1945) and Odette Churchill GC (1912- 1995) both undertook training at a Special Operations Executive training centre at Dunham House on Charcoal Road in Altrincham.
The centre was set up by Colonel Maurice Buckmaster.
Both women were awarded the George Cross for their extraordinary bravery in World War Two.
Successful films were made about their wartime activities – “Odette” and “Carve Her Name With Pride” .
