The house itself has a museum with a variety of displays encompassing natural history, Egyptology, local history, textiles, decorative art along with an art gallery.

You can also travel to Towneley Hall from Burnley Barracks station or Burnley Central station on the Preston to Colne Line joining the train at Blackburn, Church & Oswaldtwistle, Accrington or Rose Grove.
